So here is a story about what a dork I was when I was younger.
Star Tours first appeared in 1987, and the lines were always ridiculously long. Like “you will be waiting for three hours beyond this point” long.
But the line for the Peoplemover was nonexistant. And I loved the Peoplemover anyway because it was ridiculous and never had a line and it was just a nice place to look at things while you sat down and relaxed.
But my brother and I also loved Star Tours. Oh my God, we loved that ride so much. Because it was Star Wars and Disneyland wrapped into one delicious package.
So what we used to do was ride the Peoplemover and shout at people who were in the Star Tours line. We would say “Star Tours is terrible! You shouldn’t ride it! It sucks! Go ride something else!”
Because we hoped that they would listen to us and then get out of the line. And then we could get in the line.
Yeah, okay, my 10-year-old logic wasn’t the greatest. But it felt good.

About

Space monkey from the wilds of the Angeleno aerospace suburbs rocketed to the damp hideout of medieval hoodlums.

My cities have been a collection of Ns. North Long Beach, New Orleans, Nottingham.

Discovered my future when a friend sat me down at a VAX terminal and telnetted into a MUD. Now spend my days building and breaking websites for fun and profit. Not to mention co-opting intellectual property as my dollhouse.

Owns a goldfish named after a TV host and a growing collection of yarn. Build shrines and tableaux wherever I go, because they can’t stay in their original packaging.

Howdy.
